Armed youth attempts to breach West Bengal CM's house with weapons; arrested

An armed youth's audacious attempt to enter West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's house with a Bhujali and a knife sent shockwaves through the state.

The young man was driving a vehicle labeled as police, which raised suspicion among the authorities. Police promptly stopped and searched him, leading to the recovery of the weapons and a suspicious bag.

The accused youth was apprehended and taken to Kalighat police station for further questioning. The vehicle owner, Noor Hamim, has also been implicated in the incident.

Following the arrest, security at CM Mamata Banerjee's residence has been intensified. Despite already stringent security measures, this incident has raised questions about the effectiveness of the security arrangements.

Notably, July 21 marks Trinamool Congress' Martyr's Day, and a procession is underway in Dharmatala, Kolkata. Prominent TMC leaders, including Mamata Banerjee, are expected to address the gathering and make statements at the event.
