UP Anti-Terrorism Squad interrogates Pak national Seema Haider, her Indian lover

Pakistani woman Seema Haider, who has been making headlines for over a week, is now on the radar of the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) as the intelligence unit on Monday launched an investigation into the case. A police team in plain uniform arrived at Seema Haider's house to question her.

Seema Haider, a Pakistani national, entered India illegally through the border of Nepal to marry Indian national Sachin Meena, who is a resident of Greater Noida.

According to Seema, they met while playing the online game PUBG. The 30-year-old Pakistani woman was initially arrested by the local police on July 4 for her illegal stay in India, but was released on bail by a court in Uttar Pradesh's Greater Noida region. Since her release from police custody, new angles are revealed in the cross-border love story.

After agreeing to the fact that her brother is in the Pakistan Army, Seema also did not clarify what rank, department or role her brother holds in the Pakistan Army.

Keeping these aspects in mind, the Noida police are also now trying to verify the facts presented by the newly married cross-border couple. On Sunday, July 16, the Noida police recorded their statements as a first step.

On July 16, miscreants in the Southern Sindh province of Pakistan attacked a Hindu temple with rocket launchers in response to the Seema Haider case. This is the second such incident of vandalism at a place of worship belonging to minorities in two days, officials said.

Miscreants attacked a small temple and adjoining houses belonging to a minority community in Sindh's Kashmore.

Accused bandit Abdul Malik Jagirani, who claimed responsibility for the rocket attack on the temple in an alleged video, said: "The purpose of uploading this video is to recover Seema. If Seema is not handed over to us, the Temple would not be safe in Pakistan. I fired at the Temple last night and I will to do so in the future as well."
