In a distressing incident, the lift of a club in South Ex, Delhi, malfunctioned, leaving at least 10 individuals trapped inside. Despite hours of unsuccessful attempts to free them, the fire service was called for assistance in the morning.
The rescue team promptly arrived at the scene and successfully rescued all 10 people by breaking the lift's glass. Notably, the group consisted of 5 boys and 5 girls.
According to reports, the trapped individuals had been stuck in the lift since late at night. Upon informing the fire brigade in the morning, the team swiftly responded. Using a ladder, the rescue team broke the glass on the first floor and carefully extricated each person from the lift, relieving their anxiety after enduring hours of confinement.
Two girls were particularly distressed by the ordeal. After providing them with water, everyone was able to return to their homes.
The club, known for its late-night operations and hosting parties, witnessed the lift malfunction during the descent. Despite efforts to reach the individual with the lift key, they remained unreachable. As the trapped individuals' health started deteriorating, the club contacted the fire brigade control room for immediate assistance.
Steps are being taken to address the lift breakdown and ensure the safety of club visitors. Authorities are investigating the incident to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future, emphasizing the need for regular maintenance and swift response mechanisms in such situations.
