India's Supreme Court ordered six states to merge FIRs against Tandav web series producer Himanshu Kishan Mehra, actor Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, and Amazon Prime India chief Aparna Purohit in a recent hearing.
The hearing of the case was adjourned in the Supreme Court today and the matter will be heard in the Supreme Court after four weeks. The negotiations were moved to the first week of August. The Supreme Court orders the affected states to file a status report.
The Uttar Pradesh government said three FIRs have been registered in the matter in UP. The case will be heard at the Supreme Court in the first week of August. Advocate Siddharth Luthra, appearing for the petitioner, said we have no information about the status of the FIR.
He told the bench, "This matter will come up after a while." "Once we have a status report, we would be better informed on how to proceed and this matter can be stopped," Luthra added.
However, General SV Raju revealed that important details were mentioned in the counter-affidavit. “This is for the FIR in Delhi,” he said.
The court finally posted the matter for hearing four weeks later in August. “The respondent will file a status report regarding the present status of various FIRs. Adjourn after four weeks,” the court said.
