Six people died after an SUV fell into a well near Romi Bangla of Padma block on Tuesday. The incident occurred after an SUV collided head-on with a bike.
Eyewitnesses said the Suryapura Panchayat Mukhiya was going somewhere on his two-wheeler when an SUV came in front of him. To save him, the driver of the SUV tried to steer the vehicle, but it hit a wheel. The speeding vehicle jumped and fell into the well.
A total of six people in the SUV died and three were taken to Sheikh Bhikari Medical College and Hospital. All the dead were residents of Mandai in the city. Sitaram's condition is also critical. Among the dead were four men, one woman and a minor girl.
