Youth dies after alleged beating at South Garia drug rehab, family vandalizes centre in protest
Former Pakistan cricketer Saeed Ajmal has made a sensational claim regarding Sachin Tendulkar's dismissal during the 2011 World Cup semifinal in Mohali.
Ajmal alleges that the last two frames of the replay were deliberately cut to favor Tendulkar. The incident occurred when Ajmal's delivery hit Tendulkar's pads in front of the stumps, and the on-field umpire gave him out, but Tendulkar successfully reviewed the decision as the replay showed the ball missing the leg stump.
Ajmal made the claim during an appearance on Nadir Ali's podcast, stating that the frames were manipulated to make it appear as if the ball missed the stumps. He believes that if the full footage was shown, it would have revealed the ball hitting the middle stump.
In the match, Tendulkar went on to score 85 runs off 115 balls, helping India set a target of 260/9. Pakistan, in response, were all out for 231, losing the match by 29 runs.
Saeed Ajmal had a successful yet controversial cricket career, taking 178 wickets in 35 Test matches. He played his last Test in 2014 against Sri Lanka. In 2011, Ajmal was the highest wicket-taker in Tests, claiming 50 wickets in eight matches.
Ajmal also had an impressive ODI record, taking 184 wickets in 113 matches at an economy rate of 4.18. His last ODI appearance was in April 2015 against Bangladesh.
