Mamata calls urgent meeting at Nabanna tomorrow, key administrative officials to attend
An ISF worker was shot dead in Bhangarh, South 24 Parganas of West Bengal amid continuous incidents of violence over panchayat election nominations.
After the incident on Thursday, Governor Dr. CV Anand Bose has reached the spot on Friday afternoon. Earlier on Thursday night, he issued a statement saying that the evil game of violence that is happening in West Bengal will stop at any cost.
He left for Bhangad from Raj Bhavan on Friday. Elaborate security arrangements have been made for his visit. After reaching there, he started walking on the road despite the scorching sun and scorching heat. He talked to the people around him. Also reached Vijayganj market where the atmosphere is still tense. Talking to the people around there, the governor assured that the administration is taking strict action and peace will be restored.
It is worth mentioning that the nomination process had started from last Friday and from that day continuous bombardment and firing started in Bhangarh. Such a large number of bombs were kept here that the violence did not stop despite the administration's lakhs of readiness. On Friday also, seven sacks filled with live bombs were recovered from a house.
