The 35-year-old woman was rescued by her daughter when she and her husband attempted suicide at their Narela residence in north Delhi in the national capital. The woman, identified as Arzina, who is currently undergoing treatment, was in a critical condition while her husband was pronounced dead after being taken to hospital.
The girl found her parents hanging and alerted the neighbors, who called the police. The man was identified as Anwar (40) and worked as a labourer. The family lived in the Bengali Colony area of Delhi.
According to the police, a call from the PCR to the incident was received. After the police arrived at the scene, both victims were evacuated to the hospital.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the girl found them both hanged and rushed to untie the knot tied around her mother's neck.
While no foul play was suspected, police said the couple may have taken the step after an argument that had been going on between them for several days.
