SC halts mosque survey orders, restricts lower courts in pending cases
The newly elected office bearers, including Advocate President Amrendra Sahay, Vice President Dhaneshwar Mahto and General Secretary Jitendra Kumar of the Dhanbad Bar Association, took oath of secrecy and decided to work according to the association's model rules.
Earlier, the State Bar Council appointed members of the election committee comprising advocates Devi Sharan Sinha, Arun Kumar Tiwari and HC Maillick, who handed over certificates to the winning candidates after which an oath-taking ceremony was held.
On 8 June, the biennials of Dhanbad Bar Association (2023-25) were held in which the President and General Secretary of the outgoing committee were re-elected. However, advocate Dhaneshwar Mahto became the new vice president of the association.
Elected for the second consecutive term, President Amrendra Sahay said his team would work to provide all possible facilities to lawyers and make the Dhanbad Bar Association one of the best in the state. He said his team would also try to provide special facilities to women lawyers.
General Secretary Jitendra Kumar said his priority would be to implement the promises he made to the members during the election campaign and restore all facilities in the interest of lawyers.
