Speeding bus mows down pedestrian at MG Road more, driver flee
Gloom descended on the police line today when two policemen living in different barracks died of diseases early on Tuesday morning.
According to SP Chandan Kumar Sinha, the two deceased policemen are Prakash Kiran, 46, hailing from Lakhisarai and Janardan Prasad Singh, 53, belonging to Ara in Bihar. Both were rushed to MMCH Daltonganj where doctors declared them brought dead.
The SP said, "Both the deceased policemen were chronic drunkards." Prakash Kiran had a beer last night. He probably had a heart attack this morning and died. Janardan Prasad Singh had bad health because of his drinks. Singh's health was always failing. His wife used to stay with her on the police line, but when she was gone for about a week, Singh had to swallow enormous pints of wine in her absence, which eventually cost him his life.
The cops will be sent for postmortem at MMCH Daltonganj today, the SP said, to rule out whether there was any foul play behind their demise.
Since the two policemen died in harness and were in the police line making them on duty, posthumous humanitarian family assistance in terms of money, compassionate ground work etc. will come to the bereaved families of the two, the SP reiterated.
