A 23-year-old man has been charged with killing his mother's lover after drugging him, hitting him with a rock and mutilating his private parts, a police press release said Monday.
The incident came to light when a body was found at Banda (Dam) near PAC Battalion 35 on the morning of May 23. The deceased was identified by the family as Siddhart Kumar Mishra, 34, a resident of Daliganj Lucknow, police said.
“The accused has been identified as Anupam Tiwari, 23, a resident of Madiyaon, who works as a watchman in Chinhat area. He was arrested by the Lucknow police on Monday,” the police said.
An FIR under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was also lodged at the Mahanagar police station on the complaint of the victim's brother Bindhu Mishra.
On the evening of May 22, Anupam and the victim were drinking alcohol and then took Siddharth to a gang in Rahim Nagar and killed him there under the influence of alcohol, according to the police.
