They have now won every major ICC tournament in international cricket, a feat no other team has achieved. Australia's journey of dominance began in 1987 when they won their first ODI World Cup under the captaincy of Allan Border.
Since then, Australia has won four more ODI World Cups, two of them under Ricky Ponting's leadership. They also claimed their first Champions Trophy in 2006, followed by a second triumph in 2009. Australia secured their maiden T20 World Cup title in 2021, led by Aaron Finch. With this latest victory, Australia has now won a remarkable nine major ICC world titles, the highest by any team in cricket history.
