The Kerala Story director Sudipto Sen has announced his next project, Saharasri, a biopic on business tycoon Subrata Roy, the founder of Sahara India Pariwar. Producers Sandeep Singh and Dr. Jayantilal Gada (pen studios) with director Sen announced the upcoming film on June 10, when today marks 75 years of Roy's life.
The cast of the film is yet to be announced and will hit the market early next year. It will be shot in Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, Kolkata and London. Sudipto Sen revealed that a biopic is a tough job for a filmmaker, even for him. Directing this project would be "something bigger" for him as AR Rahman and Gulzar are associated with the project.
The producers revealed that the film's script involved intensive years of research. The script is sharp and taut, giving a clear vision for each scene, they added. Written and directed by Sudipto Sen, Saharasri is co-written by Rishi Virmani and Sandeep Singh. AR Rahman has composed the music for the upcoming film and Gulzar has penned the lyrics.
The makers have not yet revealed the cast of the upcoming film. The film is presented by Legend Studios and Dr.Jayantilal Gada (Pen Studios) and produced by Sandeep Singh and Sam Khan. Saharasri will be released in Hindi, Bangla, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
