Sujaykrishna Bhadra, also known as 'Kalighat Wale Kaku,' who was arrested in connection with a teacher appointment corruption scandal, has made serious allegations against the Enforcement Directorate (ED). In a letter addressed to the Bankshall Court, Kaku claimed that ED officials were pressurizing her to accept charges during interrogation and conducting the process in an unconstitutional manner.
In the letter, Kaku requested permission to meet her lawyer, stating that her lawyer, Salim Rehman, had visited her during detention but was denied access by the ED. Kaku cited Section 41D of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, asserting her right to have a lawyer present during ED interrogations. The court granted her permission to meet her lawyer for 30 minutes every day.
