Hollywood legend Al Pacino is expecting his fourth child at the age of 83, and his first with girlfriend and film producer Noor Alfallah, 29. The surprising news about Al Pachin's fourth child was revealed by TMZ. According to reports, the 29-year-old Alfallah and the Godfather actor started dating in April 2022. Rumors of romance began to circulate when they were spotted dining together earlier.
When the news broke that Al Pacino was going to become a father, even at the age of 83, it raised questions about the scientific possibility of fathering children in the golden years and the health risks involved. Dr Gandhali Deorukhkar, Consultant Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wockhardt Hospital, told to reports.
“After the age of 40, 50 and even 60, the quantity, quality and production of sperm decreases in men. So there are more abnormal sperm which can sometimes lead to abnormal embryos and there is a high chance of Down syndrome. However, it is quite possible that men can produce children even in their 90s if the sperm are functional. It's rare, but quite possible. The average child-bearing age for men is under 60, and in some rare cases, they can produce children even after that."
In recent years, there has been an interest in the problem of paternity among older people. There are a number of things to consider, although it is biologically possible for men to father children at a later age due to continued sperm production. Some genetic and physiological risks, such as increased likelihood of genetic mutations and likely difficulty conceiving, are associated with older paternal age.
Risk factors
Diabetes affects sperm quality: Sperm quality decreases in men with diabetes. Although some studies show that diabetes can reduce sperm quality, the disease itself does not appear to affect sperm motility or lead to infertility. It can also cause erectile dysfunction.
Hypertension
According to studies, men with hypertension are more likely to produce low-quality sperm. There may also be a reduced sperm count, which is important for conception.
Poor lifestyle
Men who smoke are more likely to have a low sperm count. If you smoke, ask your doctor to help you quit. Drink responsibly. Excessive drinking can result in low testosterone levels, reduced sperm production and impotence.
