Controversial CPM leader and former Tamluk MP, Lakshman Seth, tied the knot at the age of 77 in a private ceremony held at a Kolkata hotel. The bride, a 46-year-old hotel official, remains unidentified. While Seth confirmed the marriage, he refrained from discussing his personal life further.
Lakshman Seth faced severe criticism for the Left's defeat in the 2011 elections, with many blaming him for the escalation of the Nandigram movement. Following the party's loss of power, CPM expelled Seth, and even former Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharya distanced himself from him. Subsequently, Seth joined the Congress after performing rituals at various ghats. Unfortunately, in 2016, his wife and fellow Left leader, Tamalika Panda Sheth, passed away.
Following his wife's demise, Lakshman Seth took on the responsibility of raising their two children. Rumors about his potential second marriage had been circulating for some time, and on Tuesday, they were confirmed.
The bride, whose identity remains undisclosed, is reported to be 46 years old and holds a position at a hotel. Photos of the newlyweds have already been released to the public. When questioned about the marriage, Lakshman Seth responded, "I got married. Have I done anything wrong?"
