In a significant development, Sanjay Krishna Bhadra, popularly known as 'Kalighat wale Kaku,' has been arrested following a prolonged interrogation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Bhadra, a prominent figure in West Bengal, presented himself at the office of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) after being summoned in connection with the state's infamous teacher appointment corruption case.
The interrogation of 'Kalighat er Kaku' commenced at 11:03 am on Tuesday, marking his first appearance before the ED. Prior to this, he had faced intense questioning by the CBI. When asked about his emotions, Kaku cryptically mentioned that his confidence would be tested once he emerges from the proceedings.
Earlier, the ED had conducted a raid at Bhadra's residence, leading to the discovery of substantial evidence, including assets worth millions of rupees. Notably, documents pertaining to three companies were found, and their directors and accountants have already undergone questioning, solidifying Kaku's central role in the alleged operation.
The arrest of 'Kalighat er Kaku' marks a significant milestone in the ongoing investigation into the teacher appointment corruption case in West Bengal. The authorities are expected to delve deeper into the evidence collected during the raids and interrogations to unveil the extent of the scam and bring all responsible individuals to justice.
