Railway cancels several trains in Sealdah division on December 28-29
The court of ADJ(II) (Additional District Judge) Abhas Verma at the Jamshedpur civil court today rejected the bail of BJP leader Abhay Singh, accused of spoiling the communal harmony during recent violence at Shastrinagar in Kadma.
The court rejected the bail plea of the BJP leader during a hearing this morning.
With the rejection of the bail, the problems of the BJP leader seem to have increased.
Notably, earlier, apart from advocate Chandan Yadav, several VHP leaders were granted bail whereas the BJP leader failed to get bail.
Abhay Singh was arrested by the police on March 10 and sent to Ghaghidih Central Jail on charges of disturbing the communal harmony at Shastrinagar.
Today, two and a half months have passed, but the court refused bail to the senior BJP leader.
Stone pelting and violence between the two communities took place at Shastrinagar in the first week of March.
When the police reached the spot stones were also pelted at the police. Even the senior SP Prabhat Kumar was not spared.
He too fell victim to the stone-pelting incident.
He was arrested from his Kashidih residence early in the morning on March 10. Since then he has been lodged at the Ghaghidih Central Jail.
