Police have recovered a cane bomb planted by the CPI-Maoist Naxalites to harm the police. The bomb was planted in a forest near Tenda village under the Karaikela police station area of Bandgaon block of West Singhbhum district. After recovering the bomb, the police destroyed it in the forest itself.
According to the information received, the West Singhbhum district police had received a tip-off that Naxalites had planted three bombs to harm the police between Indrava and Tenda villages under Karaikela police station.
On Sunday morning CRPF 60 Battalion and Karaikela police station conducted a search operation. Three cane bombs were planted by Naxalites between Indrava and Tendra villages under the Karaikela police station. During the search operation, police and soldiers of the CRPF 60 battalion recovered the bomb and destroyed it in the forest itself.
However, after this incident, panic has arisen in the area. In relation to the incident, SP Ashutosh Shekhar of West Singhbhum district said that the bomb was planted by the Naxalites, however, the police destroyed it in the forest itself.
