On Sunday, the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) examination began at Aliah University's Newtown campus. However, the parents of students coming from different parts of the state have raised concerns about the lack of seating arrangements and drinking water facilities at the exam center.
Despite guidelines that allow candidates to bring water bottles to the exam, they were not allowed to do so. As a result, parents were forced to sit on the side of the road in the hot summer sun.
The incident has led to agitation among the guardians of the NEET examinees. They have demanded that the university take immediate action to provide basic facilities like seating and drinking water for the students and their parents. Many guardians expressed their dissatisfaction with the authorities and demanded that the exam center ensure a comfortable and safe environment for the students.
The incident has also raised questions about the preparedness of the authorities to conduct exams during the ongoing pandemic. With the rise in COVID-19 cases in the state, concerns have been raised about the safety of the students and their families who are coming to the exam center. The lack of basic amenities like seating and drinking water has only added to their worries.
