Trinamool Congress (TMC) worker Krishnapad Mandal, 28, was allegedly called for work and killed in Korakti village under Sandeshkhali police station of Basirhat area in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district, just ahead of the panchayat elections.
Mandal was an active TMC worker in booth number 230 of Krishnapada Korakati Gram Panchayat and involved in party activities. His blood-soaked dead body was recovered from a rented house in Radhagobindpur, Sonarpur police station, South 24 Parganas on April 16. Mridul Roy, the owner of the rented house, has been unreachable since the incident, as per Mandal's relatives. They alleged that he was called for work and killed and hanged in a planned manner.
However, the police have started investigating the matter and the cause of death will be determined after the investigation. T
