A massive fire broke out at Nimdighi in Uluberia. Prima facie the fire is believed to have started from a short circuit.
Eyewitnesses said that the garbage kept earlier caught fire, the fire spread in a jiffy and several houses in the area were gutted. A fair was going on next to it and a fire broke out in that fair.
The ferocity of the fire was so strong that houses and shops of the fair were burnt to ashes one after the other. The fire engine reached the spot, although it was too late, due to which people are angry.
Later, two more engines came and started dousing the fire.
