Expressing her disapproval on the appointment of Israel’s former envoy to India, Ron Malka, as Adani’s Haifa port chairman, Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mahua Moitra on Monday alleged that he supported businessman Gautam Adani’s business dealings in Israel.
She added that Malka also condemned filmmaker Nadav Lapid for criticising Vivek Agnihotri’s controversial film ‘The Kashmiri files’.
“Israel’s former envoy to India appointed Adani’s Haifa port chairman! This man screamed from rooftops about how clean Adani’s Israeli dealings were. Condemned filmmaker Nadav Lapid for criticising Bollywood Hindutva propaganda film,” she said on a micro-blogging platform.
Malka, considered a confidante of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, earlier took as the executive chairman of the Haifa Port. “I’m honoured and privileged to take office today as Executive Chairman of the Haifa Port Company, on behalf of @AdaniOnline,” wrote Malka on Twitter.
“The experience and expertise of Adani and Gadot, and the ports workers’ dedication “will take Haifa Port to new heights of prosperity,” he said.
