There has been a controversy surrounding the statements made by former state education minister Partha Chatterjee and Trinamool spokesperson Kunal Ghosh, who have been arrested. The leader of the opposition in the Legislative Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, has questioned whether this conspiracy was planned while Chatterjee was in the Alipur Correctional Hall. However, Ghosh has denied these allegations and stated that such baseless accusations have no factual basis. He expressed his disappointment with Adhikari's comments, as he is the leader of the opposition party and should know better.
It should be noted that Kunal Ghosh had posted a message on his social media account, which was later echoed by Partha Chattopadhyay. Adhikari questioned how the statement made by a person in jail could coincide with that of the Trinamool spokesperson. He accused Partha Chattopadhyay and his lawyer of being present in the office of the Superintendent of Alipur Correctional Hall before making the statements, and demanded that the CCTV footage from that time be preserved.
However, Trinamool spokesperson Kunal Ghosh denied any conspiracy and challenged Adhikari to provide evidence to support his claims. He stated that the jail is not a place to be taken lightly and that there are security cameras to ensure transparency. Partha Chattopadhyay has also spoken out on the issue, but did not make any specific allegations.
