AAP announces 1000 per month to women if voted back to power
Nine persons, including three children and two women, sustained burns in an acid attack during a clash over a currency issue in the Supaul district on Wednesday.
All the injured were admitted to Triveniganj sub-hospital from where seven of them were referred to a higher medical centre for better treatment.
According to the police, the incident took place around 11.30 am in Raghunathpur village (Ward 3) under Jadia police station when two cousins – Karun Kumar (26) and Kartik Yadav (24) clashed over a loan amount of Rs 9,000.
"Both work as labourers in Tamil Nadu. Kartik's younger brother Prabhas Kumar allegedly took out an acid bottle and threw it at Karun. After which both parties attacked each other with acid. Those injured are Maharani Devi (28), Gaurav Kumar (6), Priyam Kumari (4), Sajan Kumari (10), Sunita Devi (25), Taranand Yadav (65), Karun, Arun Kumar (28) and Sulekha Devi (35),“ said SHO Rajesh Choudhary.
The SHO said the accused Karun and Kartik were arrested while Prabhas was absconding after the incident.
"Karun sustained minor injuries while others sustained severe burns, they were sent to DMCH, Darbhanga for better treatment. We are waiting for FIRs from both sides to take further action," he said. Kartik told the police that his cousin had taken a loan of Rs 9,000 from him in 2019, which he could not repay.
