Speeding bus mows down pedestrian at MG Road more, driver flee
Jawan Jagan Singh (40) of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) reportedly drowned in the Sone river after suffering a cardiac arrest during training on Monday.
The incident took place at Parev village under Bihta police station in Patna district around 9 am. The victim was a resident of Umarpur Kalan village in Gurdaspur district of Punjab.
Police said around 22 NDRF jawans were being imparted river rescue training by the force's 9th battalion when the incident occurred. Jagan reportedly slipped into deep water after suffering a cardiac arrest. NDRF personnel rescued Jagan and took him to ESIC Hospital in Bihta. However, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
NDRF inspector Rajesh said the jawan died of cardiac arrest.
