The IMD Ranchi meteorological centre has issued a dry weather forecast in Jharkhand today. Forecasters said Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon and evening are expected to be partly cloudy.
The trough from southeastern Uttar Pradesh to interior Tamilnadu now runs from central Chhattisgarh to southern Tamil Nadu through Vidarbha, Telangana and interior Karnataka at an elevation of 0.9 km above mean sea level. Another trough runs from Bihar to North Odisha via Jharkhand at a distance of 0.9 km above mean sea level.
The forecast for Thursday and Friday included thunderstorms/lightning accompanied by strong surface winds with gusts up to 30-40 km/h in isolated places above the state.
During the past 24 hours, light rain with thunderstorms occurred at isolated places, and hailstones were also observed at isolated places over the state.
The highest rainfall recorded was 12.2 mm at Kumardungi (West Singbhum). The highest maximum temperature of 37.4°C was recorded in Jamshedpur while the lowest minimum temperature of 17.0°C was recorded in Garhwa.
