Thunderstorms and rain accompanied by lightning are expected at several places in south Jharkhand today (Monday), said the forecast issued by IMD Ranchi Meteorological Center this morning.
The forecast indicated light to moderate rain or thunderstorms at isolated places, especially in the southeastern and adjacent central parts of the state. Light to moderate rain or thunderstorms is also expected tomorrow (Tuesday, March 28) at isolated places over southeastern and adjacent central parts of the state.
There is no significant synoptic system over the state today.
A trough-wind discontinuity from Bihar to south interior Karnataka today extended from southeast Uttar Pradesh to interior Tamil Nadu through Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Marathwada and interior Karnataka at 0.9 km above mean sea level.
During the past 24 hours, light rain with thundershowers occurred at several places in the state. The highest rainfall recorded was 5.2 mm at Panchet-DVC (Dhanbad). The highest maximum temperature of 37°C was recorded at Jamshedpur and Daltonganj, while the lowest minimum temperature of 18.9°C was recorded at Simdega.
Meteorologists said there will be no major change in the maximum temperature during the next three days.
