The Yogi Adityanath government on Thursday launched a campaign to renovate 75,000 toilets in 7 days. The campaign will start on March 24.

To make Uttar Pradesh a cleaner and greener state as envisioned by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the government will launch a cleanliness drive in the state as part of the Swachh Bharat (Urban) mission, a press release added. The campaign will run from March 24th to March 30th. People will also be made aware of the importance of cleanliness during this week-long programme.
State mission director Neha Sharma said, “A seven-day campaign has begun to renovate 75,000 toilets to provide clean toilets to the citizens while improving the score in 'Swachh Survekshan 2023'. Community, public and pink toilets in urban areas in need of repair or rejuvenation will be identified and rebuilt within seven days under this campaign.”
The department regularly organizes various campaigns to keep the urban areas of Uttar Pradesh clean, Sharma added. Public participation is also ensured in these campaigns as it is essential for sustainable cleanliness according to Sharma.
The campaign aims to improve the cleanliness and hygiene of public toilets, improve the state's ranking in Swachh Survekshan-2023, convert the existing CT/PT into the cleanest toilet, create awareness about the importance of cleanliness and hygiene in public toilets, create public awareness about cleanliness and encourage them to use public toilets and dispose of waste properly, and involve local people in business, government agencies and community organizations in cleanliness efforts.
