Mamata calls urgent meeting at Nabanna tomorrow, key administrative officials to attend
The Central Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned the Asansol Jail Superintendent to Delhi for questioning in the state's much-publicized cattle smuggling case. They have also been asked to bring documents related to their bank transactions. Jail Superintendent Kripamay Nandi has been summoned on April 05.
Confirming this, Kripamay said that he has been called to Delhi on April 5 but for what reason he has been called, he does not know. He said that he has informed his top officials and they will act as per instructions.
It is noteworthy that from cattle smuggling mastermind Inamul Haque to Birbhum district's Trinamool leader Anubrata Mandal, his bodyguard Sehgal Hussaini and other accused were lodged in Asansol Jail. It is alleged that all these were given special facilities in the jail. Apart from this, there will be inquiries about who met them and what were the activities of these prisoners.
Currently, ED has taken Anubrata to Delhi and he is being interrogated continuously there. Sources have said that Mandal is not cooperating in the inquiry. Therefore, many facts will be obtained by questioning the jail superintendent in this regard.
