Illegal firearm unit busted in Bihar by joint WB-Bihar STF raid

In a joint operation conducted by STF Kolkata, Kolkata Police, and STF Patna Bihar, an illegal improvised active firearms manufacturing unit was successfully uncovered at Kukran (1), PS: Dhamdaha, Purnia, Bihar. The raid, which took place on 21/03/23 at approximately 12:10 PM, was conducted inside the house of two brothers named Sourav Kumar Choudhary and Sunny Kumar Choudhary.

During the operation, the authorities seized 20 pieces of semifinished improvised firearms (7mm) pistols, one iron-made single-shot firearm, two milling machines, two lathe machines, three drilling machines, two grinding machines, working tools and machinery, and other raw materials used for manufacturing the improvised firearms.

Three male skilled workers and two females were arrested from the spot, while the house owners, Sourav Choudhary and Sunny Choudhary, are still at large. The arrested individuals were identified as MD Sahid, aged 34 years, MD Sahanabaz Alam, aged 22 years, and MD Sahauddin, aged 41 years.

MD Sahid is the son of MD Makbul Alam, hailing from Vill: Khankabara, PS: Kashimbazar, PO: Mungar, and District: Mungar, Bihar. MD Sahanabaz Alam is the son of Late MD Safik, hailing from Vill: Milki, PS: Bihipur, PO: Bhagalpur, and District: Bhagalpur, Bihar. MD Sahauddin is the son of Late MD Hasnu, hailing from Vill: Khankabara (15 Gali), PS: Kashimbazar, PO: Mungar, Bihar.

The accused will be prosecuted under the Indian Penal Code and Arms Act at Damdaha PS and will be produced before Ld. CJM Purnea on 22/03/23 during court hours.
