YouTuber Manish Kashyap has been sent to judicial custody in the fake video case till March 22 after he was produced before a magistrate today.
He is accused of uploading alleged videos and spreading rumours regarding attacks on migrants from Bihar in Tamil Nadu. The accused surrendered before the Champaran police in Bihar after several police teams were on him.
A total of six special investigation teams (SITs) constituted from the Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) along with Patna and Champaran police teams have been searching for Kashyap at places associated with him since Friday. After Manish Kashyap was produced in court, he was sent to judicial custody.

Manish Kashyap contested the 2020 Bihar Chanpatia Assembly seat election. In the nomination papers, Manish listed his name as "Tripurari Kumar Tiwari", which is his real name. He is a YouTuber and graduated in engineering in 2016. According to the details, Manish refers to himself as the 'son of Bihar'.
Manish Kashyap has reportedly uploaded a video that has garnered over a thousand views on his video, falsely showing migrant workers from Bihar allegedly being harassed in Tamil Nadu. In return, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar called for an inquiry into the incident. Subsequently, Kashyap was on the radar of the Bihar and Tamil Nadu police.
Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin has denied allegations of harassment of migrant workers in the state. He also assured his Bihar CM Nitish Kumar that the workers were not targeted.
