Incessant rains are continuing in a wide area of South Bengal including Kolkata. There is a possibility of rain in Kolkata as well as other parts of West Bengal including Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, East and West Medinipur, Purulia, and Bankura on Saturday.
Information about this has been given in the statement issued by the Meteorological Department on Saturday morning, in which it was told that 0.1 mm of rain has been recorded in the capital Kolkata in the last 24 hours. It has been raining continuously for the last two days, due to which the temperature has also dropped.
On Saturday, the maximum temperature dropped to 26.4 degrees Celsius which is eight degrees below normal. Usually, the temperature had reached close to 34 to 35 degree Celsius. Although the minimum temperature still remains at 23.1 degrees celsius which the heat is being felt during the day.
The department has already made it clear that it will also rain with strong winds all day on Saturday. Lightning will also strike. People have been advised not to step out of their homes unnecessarily.
