Mamata changes TMC's minority cell head, appoints Musharraf Hussain

After the recent defeat of a Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate in the Sagardighi assembly by-election, Mamata Banerjee has taken steps to mitigate the damage. She plans to devote more time to the party and has appointed Musharraf Hussain as the new leader of the minority cell, while Siddiqullah Chaudhary and Musharraf will oversee the coordination of Malda and Murshidabad. Additionally, she has assigned special responsibilities to various leaders in different districts after holding a meeting with party officials.

Moving forward, Mamata Banerjee intends to hold organizational meetings with party leaders every Friday and district-level meetings for three days every month.

After a recent meeting with MPs and MLAs, she announced a reshuffle in the party organization, which included assigning Arup Biswas to oversee Burdwan, Nadia, and Darjeeling districts; Firhad Hakim to handle Howrah and Hooghly; Moloy Ghatak to manage West Medinipur, Purulia, and Bankura; and Tapas Roy to be responsible for South Dinajpur. Meanwhile, Siddiqullah Chowdhary and Musharraf Hussain will oversee Malda and Murshidabad.

Following the loss in Sagardighi, concerns were raised that the TMC's minority vote was slipping, and a committee was formed to investigate the reasons behind the defeat. In response, Mamata Banerjee appointed Musharraf Hussain as the new leader of the minority cell, replacing Haji Nurul.

During the meeting, she also expressed her frustration with Muslim leader Idris Ali and accused Khililur Rahman and Abu Taher of being in contact with Adhir Chowdhary. Additionally, Education Minister Bratya Basu was instructed to investigate scams that occurred during the Left Front's rule.

Musharraf Hussain expressed his enthusiasm for the new responsibility and pledged to work according to the party's instructions.
