Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad was addressing a press conference on Thursday after Rahul Gandhi's press conference after the budget session was adjourned. He asked how long Rahul Gandhi would "continue to bring the country down" and also said he should apologize in London for "his disrespectful remarks" about India.
Asked by Gandhi, a BJP leader said, “The BJP would like to ask Mr. Rahul Gandhi, how long will he continue to bring the country, the democracy of the country and 140 million people? He must apologize for his disrespectful remarks about India in a foreign country." Criticizing Rahul's gesture of not apologizing for his remarks, Prasad made it clearer that the BJP was adamant in seeking his apology, saying "Congress is not getting votes, it is because of its incompetence and culpability".
Launching a scathing attack on the Congress leader, he said, “Rahul Gandhi has not expressed any remorse for what he said. The BJP maintains its sane attitude that it must apologise. If the Congress does not get votes, it is because of its incompetence and misdeeds. It does not give their party leaders the right to shout against India and disrespect India.”
The Union minister called Rahul Gandhi a "newbie" and asked him to "brush up on his foreign policy credentials". Directing Rahul Gandhi to check his understanding of foreign policy and strategy, he said, “Please brush up on your knowledge of India's foreign policy and India's strategic security. You're new to the business, yet you 'talk the talk'.”
Calling out Rahul Gandhi's arrogant behavior, Prasad said, “It has become his (Rahul Gandhi's) habit to talk about baseless, absurd things. Rahul Gandhi ji, your arrogance is not above the nation”. He added “Rahul Gandhi, how is your friendship with China? There is a need to discuss how much Rahul Gandhi understands the country's foreign policy,” Prasad said while vindicating the Wayanard MP's understanding of foreign policy.
