Mamata calls urgent meeting at Nabanna tomorrow, key administrative officials to attend
In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Special Task Force (STF) of the West Bengal Police has arrested two individuals from Nawbhanga, Sector IV of Salt Lake in South Bidhannagar. Mobin Khan and Mehtab Begum were taken into custody for their alleged involvement in the possession and preparation of brown sugar, a narcotic substance that is a precursor material for manufacturing heroin.
The arrests were made early this morning, on March 16th, at the suspects' flat in Dhapa Manpur. During the operation, the STF officers recovered a staggering 3.5 kilograms of heroin and 1.5 kilograms of chemical substances that were believed to be used in the manufacturing process.
According to sources, the STF had been closely monitoring the suspects' activities for some time before making the arrests. The STF's investigation revealed that Mobin Khan and Mehtab Begum were part of a larger drug trafficking network that operated in the Salt Lake area.
The STF officers immediately registered a case with the South Bidhannagar Police Station in Salt Lake and began further investigations into the case. The suspects are currently in police custody and are being interrogated by the STF.
