Dev to be the new Brand Ambassador of Bengal tourism!

West Bengal is getting a new brand ambassador for Bengal Tourism as Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has proposed party MP and actor Dev take the task. At an industrial promotion briefing in Nabanna, CM Mamata asked Dev to take the mantle which currently is being held by Shah Rukh Khan.

Although the Trinamool MP was seen blushing at the offer, no official response has been given by him. While talking about this, CM Mamata said, "We have Shah Rukh. He made a video but, he is very busy. He doesn't have time". She even asked Tourism Minister Babul Supriyo to which he agreed and said, "First, will make a good video promoting tourism, and then Dev will work together".

Earlier this month, West Bengal won the PATWA International Travel Award 2023 for the Best Destination in Culture at ITB Berlin. The award was given by HE Edmund Bartlett, Minister of Tourism Jamaica, and Alan St Ange, former Minister of Tourism, Seychelles.

In August 2014,  Shah Rukh Khan accepted the West Bengal government's proposal to become the brand ambassador of the state. Owner of the IPL franchise, Kolkata Knight Riders, Shah Rukh Khan has a strong connection with Bengal, which he calls 'his second home'.
