Speeding bus mows down pedestrian at MG Road more, driver flee
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday made a surprise visit to an office in Nabanna and observed that there had been little change in the State Secretariat's image. Upon her arrival, the security staff was informed that she would be inspecting a different office on the fourth floor instead of her own office on the 14th floor.
During her visit, she noticed that the attendance rate of personnel until 12:30 pm was only 25 percent. This incident has reminded many of the previous government's leadership, with former Chief Minister Jyoti Basu expressing regret and saying, "Who should I ask to work, the chair to the table?"
Upon Mamata's arrival, the employees in the office stood up from their desks to greet her, and she took the opportunity to assess their working environment and presence. The Mountain Affairs Department is also housed in the same building, along with the Home Department.
