Speeding bus mows down pedestrian at MG Road more, driver flee
Two persons were arrested within 24 hours on Tuesday in connection with the murder of a Bihar man over personal matters, police said.
The crime was related to personal issues between the alleged perpetrator and the deceased and was not related to recent rumors of alleged attacks on migrant workers in Tamil Nadu, the investigation revealed.
The deceased was identified as Sanjay Choudhary from Bihar, working in a private firm in Mathapalayam. He was found dead in a pit at Periyanaickenpalayam on the outskirts of the city on Monday.
Following rumors of attacks on migrant workers, District Police Inspector V Badrinarayanan formed six special teams to investigate the murder. However, the investigation revealed that this was not related to the migrant problem.
Choudhary's wife had left him a few months ago and was living with his cousin Mukesh Shani, a construction worker. Although Choudhary tried to pacify his wife to return home, she refused. Knowing this, Mukesh decided to terminate Choudhary, police said.
Mukesh along with his colleague Kupendran invited Choudhary to a nearby bar where Choudhary had an argument over his wife. In a fit of anger, Mukesh and Kupendran attacked and strangled Choudhary with his lungi, leading to his death. They then threw the body into a pit, police said. Both were arrested and placed in jail.
