Oppn MPs' march to ED office on Adani row; stopped by police

On Wednesday, prominent opposition leaders and MPs attempted to march towards the Enforcement Directorate (ED) headquarters to demand an inquiry into allegations against the Adani Group. However, the Delhi Police halted them at Vijay Chowk as they emerged from the Parliament building.

This comes as the government continues to attack the Congress in Parliament and demands an apology from senior leader Rahul Gandhi for his London remarks. The opposition claimed that MPs from 18 different parties participated in the protest.

The Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha will meet again to continue the discussion. While the Finance Bill is the government's top priority, the opposition intends to raise issues such as allegations against the Adani group and the use of central agencies against BJP's political opponents

Parliament will reconvene to discuss the Union Budget 2023 after both houses, the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha, adjourned on Tuesday amid protests and outcry from both sides. While the ruling parties urged Congress MP Rahul Gandhi to retract his comments in London, the opposition demanded a JPC (joint parliamentary committee) probe into the Adani matter.

The second half of the Union Budget 2023 began on Monday after the first half was plagued by numerous delays due to various issues, with the Adani-Hidenburg controversy dominating the headlines.
