The dead bodies of a young man and a woman were found near a railway track in Gangaghat area of Unnao district on Monday morning. After receiving information about this incident, the police started an investigation.
According to preliminary findings, the man was a resident of Chaubeypur area of the district (Kanpur) and the woman was from Hathkudwa Bairi village of Kanpur Dehat. It is said that the two had been in a relationship for a long time and wanted to get married. Their family members were not ready for their marriage as they were cousins. The youth's bike was also found parked some distance from the spot.
The police also seized a mobile phone and a bag at the scene.
Gangaghat Kotwali Superintendent of Police Avnish Kumar Singh said food items and clothes were recovered from the bag. “The deceased has been identified as Rajbahadur, son of Kunj Bihari and daughter of Shivani Sajjan. Their family members have reached the mortuary to collect the bodies,” Singh further said.
