Trinamool leaders Kuntal Ghosh and Santanu Banerjee have met the same fate as former Minister and senior party leader Partha Chatterjee. They have been expelled from the party. Minister Shashi Panja and Bratya Basu made the announcement during a press conference. Both have been arrested by the probe agency in the infamous Teacher Recruitment Scam of West Bengal.
TMC’s Tapas Mondal, who was questioned by the CBI in Kolkata, had named Kuntal Ghosh as one of those who had raised money from several job aspirants. Following this, Ghosh was summoned and after a marathon grilling, he was arrested by the ED. Upon interrogation, Kuntal opened the can of worms naming several people, who were involved in the scam.
Whereas, Banerjee used to reportedly arrange meetings between potential job seekers and other members of the scam. Last year, former state education minister Partha Chatterjee and his close associate Arpita Mukherjee were arrested in connection with the case.
