Speeding bus mows down pedestrian at MG Road more, driver flee
Two girls, aged around 8 and 10 years, were found dead in a well of a village under Atri police station in Gaya district on Sunday. Both had rope marks on their faces. The police have launched an investigation from various angles, including a murder after rape of them.
The girls were friends and had left their homes on Friday (March 10) to cut grass for cattle feed. When the girls did not return by late evening, their family members filed a missing complaint at the Atri police station.
However, on Sunday morning, the villagers saw the bodies in the well. After receiving information, the police found the bodies.
During the primary investigation, the bodies were not found bloated despite being soaked in water. This prompted the police to investigate from the angle that the girls might have been killed elsewhere and the bodies dumped in the well.
Atri police station house officer (SHO) Diwakar Kumar Vishwakarma said, "In view of the rape arrest, the bodies have been sent to Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem."
