Gorakhpur man kills father over money, chops his body

A man from Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur slashed his father's throat with a sharp weapon, cut off his head, chopped the body parts to fit in a trunk and disposed of them, police said. A man killed his father over a money dispute and has now been arrested, police said.

The incident took place in Suraj Kund Colony under Tiwaripur Police Station limits on Saturday late evening. The brutal murder came to light when the victim's younger brother witnessed the crime and informed the police. The police registered the case on Sunday after Prashant Gupta, brother of the accused, approached the police with a complaint.

On Saturday night, Prince Gupta killed his father Madhur Gupta with a sharp weapon after a fight broke out between them over currency issues. The prince went berserk after his father refused to give him money and murdered him in a fit of rage. As the accused was about to dispose of the chopped body parts on his two-wheeler, Prashant spotted him. Prashant told the police that Prince did not tell him where he was going.

According to the police complaint, Prashant noticed traces of blood in the house and a cart bag was also missing, which raised his suspicion. Prashant then informed the police. When the police arrived at the house, Prince confessed to murdering his father. “If my father had given me money, I wouldn't have killed him,” the defendant told the police.

According to police, Prince first tried to kill his father with a knife but failed. The defendant then cut the victim's throat with a sharp weapon and beheaded him. Later, the police recovered the body parts of the victim and registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the accused.
