Manish Sisodia, former deputy chief minister of Delhi, has sent a message from Tihar jail, stating that although imprisonment may present challenges for him, it cannot dampen his spirits.
“Saheb, you can trouble me by putting me in jail, but you cannot break my spirit. The British rulers also troubled the freedom fighters but their spirits did not break — Manish Sisodia’s message from jail,” read a tweet in Hindi from the AAP leader’s official Twitter handle.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on February 26 for alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the Delhi excise policy for 2021-22, which has since been scrapped. He was also arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) earlier this week.
Sisodia resigned from the Delhi Cabinet following his CBI arrest. In a tweet in Hindi from his official Twitter handle, Sisodia quoted the freedom fighters who were not broken by the British rulers' persecution, stating that while trouble could be inflicted upon him by his captors, his spirit remained unbreakable.
