SC halts mosque survey orders, restricts lower courts in pending cases
A man was arrested for allegedly raping a six-year-old girl during Holi celebrations in Bihar's Rohtas village on Wednesday, police said.
Police said the accused was known to the minor girl. He lured the minor girl on the pretext of providing her with a water gun when her family members were celebrating Holi.
People saw the girl bleeding profusely, after which she told them about her ordeal. She was taken to the district hospital but was referred to another hospital for treatment.
The clash took place between two groups of villagers from Mahuari village under Baghalia police station, police said. “Heavy police force has been deployed in the village following high tension between the two groups,” a police official said. “The statement of the minor girl will be registered under 164 CrPC. The condition of the minor girl has improved,” the police said.
Superintendent of Police Vinit Kumar said a case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO).
