In a major breakthrough, the New Town police have recovered a whopping 3.82 crore in a call center scam case. The accused were booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Indian Telegraph Act.
During the investigation, two premises linked to the arrested accused were searched, and a large amount of cash and other valuable items were recovered. The flats are located in Sankalpaa Housing, Newtown, Tower no. 09, Flat no. 11A, and Sankalpa Housing, Newtown, Tower-06, Flat-11D were searched.
The police seized 3 crores 82 lakhs & 50 thousand in cash, one laptop, one currency counting machine, two gold rings, three silver coins, and eleven costly wristwatches of well-known brands. The total value of the recovered money, including the previous seizures, is Rs. 3,96,60,000.
The police had earlier seized six vehicles, including two Jaguar Land Rovers, in connection with the case. Further interrogations and investigations are underway.
