An Indian Navy Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) on a routine sortie when the three crew members on board made an emergency landing off the coast of Mumbai on Wednesday morning.
"The crew was rescued by a naval patrol plane," a report mentioned.
“Indian Navy ALH on routine raid off Mumbai near coast. Immediate search and rescue ensured the safe rescue of the three-man crew by a maritime patrol vessel,” the official said.
"Ditching" refers to an emergency landing on water.
An inquiry into the incident has been ordered, the official added.
