Mamata calls urgent meeting at Nabanna tomorrow, key administrative officials to attend
Ranchi police arrested car driver Akash Ghosh within an hour of committing a robbery with a female software engineer on his way to Ranchi bus stand from Birsa Munda Airport. The robbery happened around 11:30 a.m and the driver was arrested at 12:30 p.m. Ghosh fled with the passenger's purse, which had her cards and other documents.
Airport police station officer Anand Kumar confirmed the breakthrough by saying that the woman had come from Bengaluru and went to the bus stand to catch a bus to Jamshedpur. The robbery took place in Kadro, half a kilometer from the bus stops.
Asked how the breakthrough took place, OC Kumar said, “The woman came with her friend who had to go to Rourkela. His train was delayed, and he was waiting at the airport. When the loot happened, the woman called her friend, who informed us. By collecting CCTV footage without delay, we helped some locals nab the culprit from North Office Para in Doranda PS area.”
When probed, he said further the investigation was ongoing.
