Nikki Yadav murder case: Delhi court extends judicial custody of all six accused by 14 days

A Delhi court on Monday extended the remand of Sahil Gehlot, accused of killing his girlfriend Nikki Yadav and stuffing her body in a refrigerator in southwest Delhi, by 14 days before he was caught.

The court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Samiksha Gupta also extended the judicial custody of five other co-accused by 14 days.

Earlier on February 22, the court sent Gehlot (24) to 12-day judicial custody, while five other co-accused were sent to 14-day judicial custody on February 20.  Gehlot was arrested on February 14, while his father Virender Singh, cousins Naveen and Ashish and friends Lokesh and Amar were arrested three days later. Police said five co-accused were arrested after their involvement in the murder was established.

Police initially said Gehlot confessed to killing Yadav because she was pressuring him to marry her. In a twist in the case, the police said that Yadav was the wife of Sahil Gehlot and the couple got married in 2020. Yadav, according to a senior Delhi Police officer, was against Gehlot's impending marriage, which his family fixed. He killed Yadav after he failed to convince her to allow him to go ahead with the wedding.
